Pon enters American car retail market

Almere (NL), 26 June 2017 - Pon Holdings is acquiring a strategic interest in the American IndiGo Auto Group. IndiGo represents several car brands in the luxury segment, including Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, and Audi. Pon already imports and sells these brands in the Netherlands.

IndiGo Auto Group, headed by founder Todd Blue, has four hundred employees. IndiGo runs a total of ten retail dealerships in Palm Springs, St Louis, Rancho Mirage (California), and Houston.

Entering the American car retail market fits in with Pon’s international strategy. In recent years, Pon has greatly expanded its mobility portfolio in North America, among other things through the recent acquisition of the San Francisco-based Faraday e-bike label and the high-end performance bicycle brands Santa Cruz and Cervélo. The group also sells Gazelle and Kalkhoff e-bikes in North America, which has a rapidly growing market for electric bicycles.
